YANA'S WANDERLUST

This one is absolutely spectacular! It descends right on the ocean floor or straight into the ocean, depending on the tide. There are actually two waterfalls on the same beach, which makes the experience even more fantastic. Margaretville Beach Falls is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen so far in Nova Scotia. It’s in my top five waterfalls here.

We were able to approach falls without getting our feet wet, even during the high tide. However, it could be different each time. I recommend coming between tides for the best experience.

At the base of Margaretsville Beach Waterfall

This is a spectacular sight and experience. Margaretville waterfall looks gorgeous, sounds incredible and feels amazing. You can get as close as you want, touch the falling water and feel the waterdrops on your skin. There’s something special in watching how all this falling water merges with the vast ocean.

Take Seaman Street, then park in the parking lot across the Margaretsville Community Hall. You might also find a spot for your car before the Margaretsville Pier on Haddock Alley. You’ll be able to see falls from there. Here’s the Margaretsville Beach Falls Trail map from AllTrails

Margaretsville Beach Falls hike

• Distance from the parking lot – less than 2km.
• Difficulty – easy/moderate.
• Hiking time – approximately 10-15 min one-way.

It’s a short hike on the rocky beach. There’s a smaller waterfall right before the main treasure of this place. Check the tide schedule and plan your hike accordingly. It’s possible to access Margaretsville Beach Waterfall during the high tide, but it could be different from day to day, so have some extra time for the best experience.

Another treasure nearby 

While visiting this amazing place, make sure to check out Margaretsville Lighthouse. You can easily walk there from the same parking lot. I love how cute and beautiful it is. The picturesque Margaretsville Lighthouse and waterfall on the beach create an amazing one-day trip experience.
