It was a truly magical experience to sit by this unique-looking waterfall, undisturbed and immersed in natural beauty. It was quiet and peaceful, mostly cloudy, with rare sun rays shining through the tree branches. Givan’s Brook Falls was fully covered in green moss, creating a fairytale scene like the picture from the children’s book.
This gorgeous waterfall is located in Berwick, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is close to the road and is best to visit in spring and autumn after the rainfall. I believe it dries out in summer.
Side view of Givan’s Brook Falls
The trail starts close to the top of the waterfall. Descend unveils a beautiful side view of Givan’s Brook Falls. It’s a great angle, but the best part is still ahead.
At the base of Givan’s Brook Falls
After a short hike down the hill and stream crossing, the stunning view awaits. There’s a perfect place at the base of Givan’s Brook Falls to sit on the fallen trees and enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Givan’s Brook Falls map and directions
Take Highway 360 towards Harbourville, then turn left on a dirt road (Barley St.). You’ll see a Givan’s Brook Fall’s sign on the right. Poll off and venture on the trail. Turn left at the fork and descend.
About Givan’s Brook Falls hike
- Distance from the road – less than 200m.
- Difficulty – moderate.
- Hiking time – approximately 5-10 min one-way.
It’s a short, a bit challenging adventure. There’s a steep hill, but you can hold on to trees, and there are roots to ease your descent. The hike includes a brook crossing. On our visit, it wasn’t deep or wide, and there were stones to get to the other side without getting our feet wet. However, the situation could be different in early spring when snow melts or after significant rainfall.
