RUSSIA BROOK FALLS – WATERFALL DESCENDING INTO THE OCEAN

Russia Brook Falls photo by Yana Aleksandrova

This stunning nature treasure is located right on the beach and is easily accessible during the low tide. Spectacular nature surrounds Russia Brook Falls. Dramatic red cliffs, blue ocean and beautiful rocky beach make this destination even more desirable. But surprisingly, we were alone there, immersed in this landscape.

You can come as close as you want. Be careful and look for rocks that could fall off the cliff. You can feel the breeze from Russia Brook Falls on your skin and enjoy the spectacular view from every angle. It’s a fantastic experience to touch a waterfall.

Russia Brook Falls map and directions

Depending on weather conditions, it might be safer to park alongside Russia Rd. However, there’s also a small parking space down a steep hill.

The Russia Road doesn’t have pavement, so it would be better to access it from Highway 360. This way, it will be just a minute drive without pavement. After successful parking, get to the beach and venture to the right until you see the waterfall.

Important tips about the Russia Brook Falls hike:

  • You’ll be walking on the rocky beach, so bring hiking shoes;
  • The best time to visit is at low tide to access the waterfall.
  • Enjoy and respect the nature.

We arrived 30 minutes before low tide, and there was plenty of beach space to walk. You can also come between tides. However, the waterfall might not be accessible at high tide, so check the schedule before arriving.

It’s an easy hike in warm weather at low tide. However, in different conditions, it could be much more difficult. Rocks could be wet or icy, so it’s better to have hiking sticks. Avoid coming right before the high tide. Even if you think it’s possible to get to the falls, there’s also a hike back, and the tide could change everything rapidly.
