This stunning waterfall is an exquisite treasure in the forest. And the best part — it’s easy to access. Ettinger Falls awakens the forest with the symphony of thunderous roar and motion, creating a spectacular ambiance of wonder. It’s one of my favourite nature escapes in Nova Scotia and a great place to immerse yourself in the raw beauty of the wilderness.
At the top of the Ettinger Falls
There is a natural rock platform that serves as a perfect viewpoint for enjoying the falling water from above. From this spot, you can also see a cascade behind the main waterfall. It’s a great spot to enjoy spectacular views and to feel nature’s breathtaking power up close.
At the base of the Ettinger Falls
A short descent from the top leads to an even better viewpoint. The spectacular view at the base of Ettinger Falls is an awe-inspiring memory that will always have a special place in my heart. The power and untamed beauty of this natural jewel left me speechless.
How to get to the Ettinger Falls

This beautiful waterfall is located in Hants County near the small Three Mile Plains community, close to Windsor. To get to the Ettinger Falls, take Windsor Back Rd, turn to the unnamed road, and park before the gates. Then go ahead on foot, approximately 1 km.
About the trail:
- Distance from the parking spot – around 1 km.
- Difficulty – easy/moderate
- Hiking time – approximately 15 min one-way
The trail is easy most of the way via a wide gravel road. There are just a few steps from the road to the top of the falls. To the base of Ettinger Falls leads a steep hill. It’s short and relatively easy but could be challenging if slippery. For recent reviews and photos, map, conditions and more check Ettinger Falls Trail on AllTrails.
